i think i just fried my brains with too much cell phone radiation XD i totally forgot that my home phone was changed from corded to cordless very recently!! (LOL same as the last time, when the new phone rang for the first time and i got the shock of my life coz i thought it was some creepy ring tone aka the scary-movie kind. hahaha)
talked to sarah buddy for an hour plus :D yay i miss phonecalls for fun! what better time to do it than now when we're all uber free right? (though very soon i think ill be DAMN sick of the sight of a phone... starting work as a data collector for ministry of manpower on friday!)
went to supreme court with jack today to listen to random cases!! amos was supposed to come along after his tennis/lunch, but he decided he was too late to come by in the end tsk (busy popular kid with so many other outings in one day xD).
damn interesting omgggg. hahaha i can't believe the two of us got so much kick out of listening to a case about construction of the marina coastal expressway (which initially sounds damn boring) we were totally lost for the first ten minutes but after that, can sort of make out some details of the case, and it's superr interesting to see how they construct and twist arguments and how the judge makes sense of all these and evaluates them. ahhaa she's a judge in the senior counsel (justice belinda ang-- or looks very much like her picture in the straits times).
omggg damn scary to be a lawyer, haha the defendant's lawyer was quite cui/cmi/fail XD whole day thinking what to say and having awkward silences in the court plus he brought in a lousy witness (IMO-- he couldnt explain anything well, too technical plus english cmi... so in the end the judge also couldnt get anything he said). And the lawyer also got scolded! for not stating something in his preliminary statement. hahaha scaryyyyy. being a judge seems damn good tho, you can show your frustration/irritation/zsnap the lawyers and they still have to refer to you with "your honour" HAHA. no wonder can behave like that right, high court judges are very high (for lack of a better word) up the ladder already.
the plaintiff's lawyer seemed very competent (for today's trial at least!) hahaha and his witness was superb! lol i shan't write down the whole case here, seeing as we got 3-4 full pages filled in a notebook xD good experience :)
later we went to yakun toast in Nex to drink coffee/tea with amos! hahaha, talked a whole bunch of crap... about ppl we know, about gayness (LOL :O heard disturbing things), about dreams and sigmund freud, about studying/work hahaha i don't really like the last topic (makes you feel stressed and uncertain) but i guess you still need to think about it and talk about it often to know what's going on in other's lives as well as think about it/gather info yourself...
on the way to nex, i signed my job contract at raffles place at my job agency (haha totally annoyed at how they treat us though) call me at 4pm asking me to come down by 6pm to sign the contract. im like "omg??" luckily i was at cityhall one stop away... what if i was somewhere really far away/not free? grrr but i guess job seekers are always at the mercy of the agencies. (aka: we have nothing better to do huh)
In short: productive day and had fun! :)
