havent posted since last sunday! was such a busyyy eventful week!

havent blogged about nationals (wednesday, and thus no GP paper for meee xD). hmm, morning wasn't really performing at my best form, so screwed up a few shots here and there when i forgot to align properly. for some ends of 6 arrows, had about 3-4 goodshots (10, 9,9,8) and then had 2 bad ones like (5,4) because of temporarily forgetting the ideal form. haizzz. ah well, was still quite okay, but not my best...

we were supposed to shoot 2 rounds of 36 arrows each (a total of 72 arrows) for the Scoring Round. that they would tabulate and then rank all the archers in their respective categories (i.e. 30metres/50 metres, male/female). But it rainedddd -.- so we only got to shoot 1 round and 1/6 of the second round. Then they started tabulating for the ranking positions already... so annoying, coz i was finally getting better D: RAWR. got 6th position in ranking... lost to 5th by a few points D: But quite funny, coz 2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th positions were all RJ girls. soohan (captainnnn :) ) was so proooo :D she got 2nd! same score as the number 1 ranked MJ girl but she got 2nd because of the number of perfect "X"s she hit and because of their one arrow tiebreaker shootout. but surprisingly, after my 6th position, dunno why all the rest 50 plus points behind :X

okay. then they took the top 16 ranked archers to go into the Individual KnockOut round (IKO). number 1 will versus number 16, number 2 with number 15 and so on... actually i was just hoping to get thru the first 2 rounds of iko and that would be utter satisfaction, seeing as the last comp, i got eliminated in the 1st round. D: so anw, luckily this time round my ranking was quite high up, so i got matched against some MJ girl ranked lower down (number 12). that was an okay match! it was quite relaxing talking to her tho, it was just like some relaxing training in a field, coz she wasnt the highly strung up kind. (dun like those who blackface because they arent shooting well and the stress gets to them... gah shant say names, but its very scary to wish someone goodluck jiayou when you're on the field and theyre your raffles teammate and they just stoneee :O srzly, your shooting gets affected if you're angry and not calm.)

haha anw, omg i have never gotten such a good score before. must be because after lunch, i finally got my form correct, warmed up alr plus recharged :) scored 100/120 (for our iko round, we shoot 12 arrows and then the higher score archer "knocks-out"/eliminates the lower one and moves on to the next round). #12 got 47. but nt bad lah, considering its her first comp. i think my first comp i got like 30+ D: amagad. embarassing. everything was missing everywhere. okay so anw after first round, left the remaining top 8.

anw, next round was against suching!! sigh why must our archery girls face each other D: inside competition! so sadddd, esp when we could be knocking out other school competitors instead of ea other D: sigh Eli VS Nicole also. totallyyyy wasted. anw me and suching were like damn happy people, shooting relaxedly. then we were like, thank gdness it's you and not some of those stone faced pple! suching was quite good! our matchup ended in 98-75 :) poor eli lost to nicole by one point tho! ah well. inside comp sucksssss.

Oh oh, this round, soohan was against this TJC girl, and there was this whole BUNCH of TJ girls screaming and cheering obnoxiously at the spectator tents a few metres away! OMG. i could hear them from the next board i was shooting at -.- omg and soohan asked them politely to keep quiet but they refused. soohan lost D: sighh though she's sooo gooddd (numberrr 2) maybe coz she couldnt concentrate due to those ANNOYING *#&(@*$. she lost by so little also! D: End of the round: left top 4.

Next, i was against that TJ girl now. omg the horrors. soohan wanted me to avenge her xD and captain is damn cuteee (esp when she's pissed xD) she brought like 5 other rj archers to come to serve as distractions of our own as well! HAHA mental warfare sehh. so it just happens that i shoot quite slowly (coz i like to chillax and take my time-- as long as can shoot finish 3 arrows in 2 mins), so the other girl will draw her bow first.... then soohan and everyone will be like "GO ANGIEEEEE! You can do it! Don't stress! GO ANGIE" LOL super loud cheering! so that that girl can get a taste of her own medicine. It was damn hilarious i wanted to LOL.

but sadly when it's my turn to be at full draw, the TJ girls will start cheering like mad for the other girl "GO SIOKLENGGGGG, SIOKLENG FOR THE WIN! GO GO GO SL SL SL" I really wanted to laugh sometimes while at full draw because they sounded damn comicallll, coz there's this mega bimbo who sounds damn cheerleader-ish. but luckily anw, didnt really affect me thatttt much hopefully. i dropped by 4 points. but 98/120 ain't thatttt bad. woa close match tho, dearest siokleng got 91. whew. revenge ;D ahahaha

finals match alr. had to go up against that number 1 ranked MJC girl. scary 1st end of 3 arrows. (we shoot a total of 4 ends). I got (X, 8, 6) she got (10,8,6). so that's like we sorta tied in score, but i got more X's to win. i was like omggggg crap if we go on like that, i must sustain or will die. 2nd end she won me. (10, 8, 7) to my (10,6,5). badddd end. i was really going to freak out. luckily the next two were good :) 10,8,7 to her 6,6,5 and 9,9,8 to her 8,7,6. whew. final score 96-86. i really didnt expect a gold medal. was at first thinking (before the start of the final round), should i settle for a silver? but rmbered that i wanted to go in this comp in the first place to give it my best shot. happy i guess =) the sneaking around trying to squeeze in extra trainings during the last 2 weeks while not telling my parents was kinda worth it. and they were happy too! (tho they still dunno abt the trainings XP)

anw, sadly i didnt have a team event. coz when ken (coach) was registering us for competition back in march he decided that me and suching shouldnt have teams -.- what the pong, and he sent in untried and untested j1s who totally had scores like 50 and 70 out of 360. while suching was 3rd place!!! and tho i was 6th... we both got 257-270 out of 360. omg. sigh. unfair. if not our team might have had more chance in the team event to get maybe 2nd or 3rd. coz Eli(#4)-Nicole(#5)-Soohan(#2) power female team got gold for team event :D

actually now i kinda miss shooting! (not only miss the excuse that shooting gave me to not do work) but it was reallyyyy really relaxing. and the satisfaction you get from good shots (though much rarer than the occurence of bad shotssss) is really fulfilling. ah well.

okay that's that for nationals.

Thursday!! LAST DAY OF SCHOOL :) went to watch POTC4 with buddy sarah, sandra, roxxx :D it was NICEEEEEE. and hahaha fangirled over the awesome hot way the mermaid and the missionary guy looked SO GOOD tgt!! ahhhh. he's the replacement for orlando bloom in pirates 4, but he was soooo much better xD Orlando bloom only looks good in LOTR as the elven archer anw. everywhere else he looks badddd imo. anw, fun time stuffing toppings on yogurt with sandra xD and sneaking in our food before the movieee.

haha went to shoot 5 days out of this week 7 days. :D awesome. haha sigh sadly was too busy to devote much more time than just what was required last year and earlier this year (what with boonlay exco duties, countdown madness, h3). only really started lovingggg archery these 2 months (loving the shooting and not just the people as was the case last year) it really feels quite good to stand in the field (be there a slight drizzle, gray skies, or extremely hot sun) and think of nothing but your arrows.

haha went to shoot on monday extra at potong pasir cc, then tuesday had training at cedar primary school field, wednesday shot extra at choa chu kang range with jordan, russ, elizabeth, roy, gabriel, nicole. haha :) awesome place to shoot-- very conducive! luckily roy's sister fetched me, eli, russ and jordan there after school to save time... but sigh too bad my trip home was so long, sad and lonely. had to take a bus to choa chu kang mrt, then a red line down to jurong east, then green line ALLLLL the way across singapore, then another bus from paya lebar mrt home D: zomg even worse than boonlay haha -.-.

thursday! went to get half-off starbucks happy hour :D with syakir, ding and dj's many classmates! (aww mir was sick D:) but anw, hahaha gillian had to go and boost syakir's ego by saying he was handsome. GOSH. X.X now he'll be more insufferable than ever. haha at least she agreed with me that dj shuldnt be so pretty, why does a guy need to be pretty anw, sigh wastedddd prettyness.

friday had the usual training! yay scored 264 for one round and was superrrrrrr happy coz that was like my personal best so far (the others being always around 230+). haha then went for harmoc concert with roxanne and dj (who was coerced into going after training, tsk the lengths to which pple go for RD!! haha). lololol rox bought fruits as our present to sarah!! A FRUITFUL EXPERIENCE HUH XD. anw the concert was really good! haha i think harmoc pple sell their cca short sometimes. like, it was really not bad! dk why they kept saying they were lousy D: hahaha loved "rain" by joe hisaishi, and the bella ciao song. OMG the god who played the accordian was amazing. shit, musical pro-ness plus studies freaking good too. why are pple so crazy talented. haha oh i liked the syf piece (the non-chinesey one) it was happyyyy~

saturday (yesterday) went to extra train at tampines field with dj, edith and plus some other j1s. OMG. super happy i reached 281!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my highest as of yet. improvement by 20 points from the 264 previous highest. just hope i can replicate this in competition XP. so lucky, had 2 ends of 53/60 points (because 6 arrows are 10 points each, total maximum possible score of 60 for one end) was so happy. 10, 9, 9, 9, 8, 8.

sigh. okay. realised that archery is 60% physical strength and 40% mental calmness. must really hope i can be focused and calm on the day of nationals... must tell myself please dont get overly freaked out when i get extremely lousy shots, but don't get too relaxed or happy when there's a good shot too. focus focus focus. and don't think about anything else. except what to repeat and do over and over and over again.

yesterday was dad's bday also! spent 2-3 hours making his bday card. haha. then we ate an awesome dinner at paradise pavilion. omg i really love foie gras. me and my bro were in heaven. sigh too bad for the ethical debates over how they make foie gras. ah well.

however, somehow, last night wasnt too happy. was super tired from archery, then was innerly irritated coz i was putting in so much effort to keep my temper in check when talking to you, at saying only the most positive things and treading carefully so as not to set you off. sian. wth. you're allowed to pms, but please, dun affect everyone else with your mood. funny how one person can affect so many others. and i HATE hearing complaints about how you don't like the food. omg. i cannot stand the negativity and also food is good. why not just be grateful for it?

had no one to talk to last night, was so bored. so i went to sleep early. woke up today happier tho, glad i didnt type a really really really angsty post last night coz i was too tired to.

monday! hahaha school was totally useless that day! bio lecture (in which no listening took place XP) and then break for an hr and gp lesson for 45mins and then we got to leave for match support XD

Hahaha valerie is soooo cool! ahaha, we're all like fangirling over her now xD so calm cool collected and utterly pro! haha badminton matches were soo exciting! forgot how awesome it was to cheer and be high and scream for our school xD reminds me slightly of RG times, when we went to support matches! (i rmb watching basketball, that was damn awesome)

okay then went back to school to meet ding so we could go extra archery shooting at ppcc! then had to go boonlay after that to meet old exco plus new exco. omggg LOL heard the stupidest most ridiculous rumour today! have no idea which j1 could be so blind/mistaken HAHA.

hmm tuesday! today went for more training (unofficial and optional but ken was there to guide us so... sigh there goes the public holiday~~) shot in the sun till we're all very unevenly tanned now xD tan lines from arm guard ftw! and then we all went to cafe cartel to eat lunch!! damn nice ribs omg.

almost forgot to blog abt this. lololol still quite traumatised from last friday when me and TT and ding almost got killed -.-. i cant believe that a j1 actually took up her bow, pulled it to full draw (WITH A FREAKING ARROW LOADED) while she was standing 1m behind us while we were shooting (she was behind the shooting line). OMFG. if she accidentally released the arrow right, we'd have gotten shot from behind. at close range. someone could have been blinded/killed. no kidding. that arrow can pierce a thick hard board at 30 metres away.... and she's one metre behind us (who are mere mortals made of flesh) wts. scary shit. luckily ken spotted her and asked "wth are you doing???"

gosh there's a reason why there's a shooting line that everyone has to stand on. safety considerations. omg. that's also why we don't retrieve arrows when others are still shooting. she shuld just go and walk out there and get herself shot LOL.

sigh. was supposed to be letting things go. why does my subconscious and my dreams bring it all back to square one?

forgetting might seem like the easiest and healthiest thing to do.

but "forgetting" (or maybe pretending/self-deluding) ... storing things aside in the deep recesses of your memory and emotionally repressing yourself doesn't actually do much good

coz one day, months later, it hits you.

and you still cry yourself to sleep.

and you realise that you have let the months pass by.

for nothing.

as nothing has really healed. or maybe it just seems that way.

Quelqu'un M'a Dit. Awesome song by carla bruni :)

the lyrics are awesome too! am quite happy i can sortaaaaaa understand lyrics when reading them (not while listening tho, coz the French speak so fast :/ i bet they do it on purpose) better than direct translations from online translators tho :) (slightly hehe)

On me dit que nos vies ne valent pas grand-chose
Elles passent en un instant comme fanent les roses
On me dit que le temps qui glisse est un salaud
Que de nos chagrins il s'en fait des manteaux
Pourtant quelqu'un m'a dit...

Someone told me that our lives are nothing important
They pass in an instant like the roses fade
Someone told me that the time that passes is a *expletive*
That it makes top-hats out of our sorrows
But someone told me...

On me dit que le destin se moque bien de nous
Qu'il ne nous donne rien et qu'il nous promet tout
Paraît que le bonheur est à portée de main
Alors on tend la main et on se retrouve fou
Pourtant quelqu'un m'a dit...

Someone told me that destiny mocks us well
That it gives us nothing but promises us everything
It may seem apparent that happiness is within our hands/grasp
Then one reaches out one's hand and finds oneself a fool
But someone told me... (continue to chorus)

hmm yesterday blogger was down. haha couldnt get my daily fix.

anyway, training is getting much better =) maybe coz im finally actively trying to keep calm and think positively... i dun feel this constant burden and stress that i suckk so bad that leaves me feeling so so very hopeless.

am improving too! am not getting 20s to low 30s anymore (am quite appalled that that was my standard last time). yay constant 45-50 out of 60 for each end here i come... nt very good in the standards of TT, hwang, jordan etc but will be a marked improvement for me... im so very glad ken found out it was my arrow length problem (not so much strength) and corrected that. am doing so much better now!

sigh. sadly training always leaves you feeling sticky and gross. when its hot and sunny and HUMID (recently these few weeks). and then it starts raining right after. OMG. haha hate shooting in the rain! but its inevitable apparently, the sky doesnt likey us much!

dinners on fridays are awesome =)

really need to learn to maintain a calm mental state.

ahhhh. today training, started freaking out really badly for no reason during our one round of timed shooting (like in competition). for 2 whole ends of 6 arrows ea (PS: 1 proper scoring round is 6 ends), was super nervous/screwedup/uncalm. argh.. totally messed up my shots. coz you get a bad shot, you get affected, then you make even worse shots and you end the whole thing in disaster.

After that, i was like. omg why am i freaking out? and TT & ding asked me to CHILLAX. sigh. so i did... and after ken's (coach) adjustments to my sight and clicker, shooting felt better.

haiz. my form is apparently good. ken always says "looks good/correct". and then he sees where my shot lands. -.-'' let's just say the score aint as good as you'd think a good shooting form would give u. haiz. but after that, i really got better after i stopped freaking. yayy :) and ken saw a arrow hit 10 :D then he walked off and i hit a 6 -.-''

BUT... NOTE TO SELF: just chill, gal. remember what a good shot feels like. and replicate that. remember what you're not supposed to do (DONT move your head when drawing). Also, must rmbr what ken corrected me today, extend and ALIGN (must) left arm properly while drawing, anchor point, then use your back muscles to get clicker to click, then let go of string evenly, then shoot.

maybe visualising shots before i sleep would help. that's what apparently we're all supposed to do to improve! XP

sigh. just stop freaking out. you need a calm mental state. (i thought i used to pride myself on having a calm mind--- i guess not... NEED TO TRAIN THAT!)... you can do this.

in uncalm mental state: 23/60
when trying to be calm: 44/60

shall try to remain calm so as to at least get above 40... and then the rest of the score can only be improved thru more trainings.

haha anw, walaooo dingjun whole day come and borrow shirt from me/ask me to ask my friends. today lent him my MT shirt, why? coz apparently pe floorball in this humid weather makes you drenched until your shirt can turn transparent(??) HAHA. lol omg suchhh a girl~xD later somemore call me again to ask whether i got plastic bag. -.- i was like *bimtch tone* "what am i? your wardrobe?". i wore rox's MR shirt today for training! makes me realise.... i want to collect the other houses' shirts~~ (bw & mr) :D

haha this weekend has been quite unproductive!

i wasted saturday doing the mdm ho farewell book and watching the elections till 3am! haha. at least im done with the book =) YESSSSSSSS!!!! gosh, relieved.

okay then sunday went out to study with ding and syakir at tampines! later mir joined us after her friend's bday lunch and we ate dinner :D haha nt that productive, around the same (or just a lil better) than if i was at home! BUT at least i had fun and company while doing the work instead of stoning and languishing the day away at home xD

today was another wasted day! ahaha. coz i started giving in to my cravings for anime. gosh. hahaha and rox thinks im some mega stalker who camps on fb everyday! no lorrr just that ive been doing work while on the comp and i check my email rather regularly xD (NOT fb) hehe

sigh. idk why im in holiday mood. must be all the long weekends! and also, im not taking gp cts (coz of nationals) hahahhaa. darn and june is coming soon. and tho june is really for studying, i still have holiday mood. omgosh. need to stop this.

gdnight world!

okay, sometimes, the first instinctive defense mechanism to protect myself when im sad/emo is to be angry mean ranting and bitchy (as everyone can tell from my posts) sigh. nt too good. sorry to those on the receiving end, but its not like they read this.

have tried hard for months to understand how the hell people can take so freaking long to reply on msn. ahhh just don't talk to me if you don't really want to.

15 minutes between each reply? (when you're not doing work)? if i was that boring/useless to talk to. then don't start. obtusely ignoring me.... if you wanted to do so/ planning to do so from the start, then dont talk to me first....

coz its painful to have the fact of your negligence shoved right in my face each and every time.

at least, when i lag in replying people's convos, i didn't start that convo in the first place.knowing full well i was doing something on the other side and that what i'd be doing would be rude.

bored.... but not bored enough to reply me huh.

okay. i should be understanding, of how people are of different types. but months of the same thing, and it's not like this is how you universally treat everyone. guess it's just me.

my heart swells with gratitude to those who actually type stuff back and not only visit my links/watch my videos but recommend me to see stuff too. but i guess, that's just different ways of how people click.

pity i don't get that with some. am almost quite DONE being sad over it.

just like how years and years of wave erosion can cause hard rock to smoothen out

and crumble.

Okay, just typed out a 1200 word email to a junior about what she will be doing as the next Comms Head in youth club. whew.

sigh. haven't done finish the history book/farewell present for mdm ho yet :/ with a whole BUNCH more of CDs to look thru. can't wait for this to be over. and i can officially say IM DONE with youth club duties.

today was epic sad training D: whyyyy isit always raining on wednesdays??? we're all super annoyed that it rains EVERY. SINGLE. TRAINING DAY. How are we gonna shoot at this rate? bow training till arms suan tho D:

tsk. archery j2 gals are incorrigible. we shuld all stop being so grossss. XD pulling ea other's straps indeed HAHA. hwanngggg and nicole double teamed me somemore. TSK. HAHA then we were pretending dingjun had one too. (Y)(Y). omg which reminds me, stupid dingg, now the ENTIRE archery calls me kentang D: and they keep laughing at his jokes and encouraging the idiottt :/ so he thinks his potato jokes very funny. (want. to. strangle.something)

apparently mir's and ding's entire classes know me as a piece of carbohydrate. -.- and syakir's entire class knows me as baby? WTP? (syakir blames it on max who is apparently out to get him) and apparently the name stuck coz of that stupid shameless phonecall me and mir made to syakir ages agoooo.

okay. time to sleep and wake early to attempt to do math.

sigh. was thinking abt the sad state of my studies earlier and i realised i havent done a math tutorial since last year october. oh kill me naoooo.

CANT WAIT FOR LONG WEEKEND. i must really spend it productively!!!

From an email from our founding president of TYC... Wow, idk, i really like the phrasings and the words. Put together so simply but puts across the message so elegantly. hahaha i wish i could write stuff like that.

"One will always encounter detractors and criticism at every stage of one's life, no matter what one does. At times, these will lead you to question your convictions and motivations. But if after some reflection you find your conscience to be clear and your intentions honourable, then you should continue to hold your head high and press forth with your convictions.

It was unfortunate that Siew Kum Hong and co. decided to target the youth club for purely political purposes. In my mind, none of them have any association with the residents of and the students volunteering in Boon Lay. Apart from being armchair critics, when was the last time any of them directly interacted with or lifted a finger to contribute to improving the lives of the residents? So I would use the opinions of those who have directly benefited from the youth club's activities and programmes, and not the naysaying of tangential observers, as the true barometer for evaluating the extent to which the club has achieved its goals."

hahaha learnt a new word today. Tangential observers. indeed.

am collecting the past 8 presidents' reflections/input to the book now... hahaha waichoong's one is damnn impressive. (2 pages long!!) hahaha if i copied it in here, id die reading. but anw, why are pple so impressive???

hahaha me and mir were discussing waichoong that day. haiz, at stake of sounding like fangirls (but we're not), why is he so pro/capable/omg good? haha. mir agrees too, when we think of a good leader right, we think of waichoong. seriously, without him, our club wouldn't have gone on this well. at all.

all the many (countless) novel ideas, all the managing of people(grassroots side and us) and datelines (numerous), all the meticulous emails and sms reminders come from him, but yet, we don't begrudge that, and do the work willingly (rather) haha. how do you manage pple that well and yet get so much done and have the energy to think of fulfilling even more ambitious dreams/visions for the club? and though we all get so tired and demoralised after awhile, somehow we just kept being pushed through to do more and more. (for better or for worse?... time has yet to tell tho)

email writing skills need to be damn good too. how do you combine a style with all the information and points covered but written sensitively and able to hit the right spots with the right pple? just read wc's long email calling other presidents to rise to the occasion and write their inputs to mdm ho's book ..... (speechless) haha. even if i was the most apathetic reader who didnt want to write my reflections, after reading the email i so would.

hahaha lol me and ding are always discussing why there are such pro imba pple in this world. x.x haha tsk.

Cannot imagine TYC without WC and hopefully, the juniors won't let it flounder.
