KBOX was damn fun xD though my voice is still SO LOW. nvm ^^ can sing guy songs super well ;D HAHA pity jack & i didnt get to sing jap songs -.- coz the karaoke subtitles were in hiragana and kanji. SIGH. i took the wrong 3rd lang!!! haha
anws, after that, went to play LEFT 4 DEAD 2 at a LANshop!! SUPER FUN. killed zombies for 2 whole hours :D before leaving to get bubbletea and PIEkia pies at dhobyghaut! took damn FUNNY maluating videos and posted on facebook ;D HEHE.

anw, saturday was FACELIFT @ boonlay! went to help out from 8.30 to 5 plus!! OMG. I HAVE this memory seared into my brain for LIFE man.
at first, me and duyan (AND wp was SUPPOSED to be in our grp, .... but the SLACKER (hahaha ;D) was going around taking photos... so only 2 left to do the house!) were assigned to this house.... newspapered everything then was FINALLY going to start painting (ie. the FUN part) when we got replaced by another group, and got assigned to another unit whose conditions were apparently SO BAD until they needed reinforcements!
so.... we happily went there.
and got the SHOCK of our lives. ZOMG.
you know those kinds of houses you always see on extreme makeover and oprah show??? those that belong to hoarders? (ie. people who cannot bear to throw ANYTHING away--- so their houses become like super uninhabitable?) the conditions were like those!!! EXCEPT maybe worse?? dunno lah omg
we stepped in right... THERE WAS NO FLOOR. everything was covered in trash trash trash, junk junk junk, newspapers, fliers from who knows how many years ago, paper, empty food cans, ketchup packets(like wth???), clothes,old mouldybags, shoes and COCROACHES-- DEAD, ALIVE, SMALL, MEDIUM, BIG, EGG SHELLS, CASINGS, BODY PARTS, LEGS, WINGS EVERYWHERE. OMG. the entire floor covered like 7-10 cm thick with this shit??? the entire living room!!
AND THE KITCHEN was WORSE (if it could even get any worse). there was another 10cm thick layer of clothes clothes more clothes and BEDSHEETS also have on the FLOOR of the "KITCHEN". and among that was tons of COCKROACH SHIT. and more ALIVE ONES. and they were DAMN BIG. and FLEW AROUND. and there were tons of small ones! after we remove so much clothes from the floor right (and in the process smashed ALOT of cockroaches).... STILL NO FLOOR IN SIGHT. because there were 5 cm thick cardboard, empty food wrappings, yadayada STUCK to the floor. notice the word "stuck"!! why? because they were seriously STUCK on the floor. renci and i had to use a KNIFE and FORK to pry them off the floor! and underneath was a whole infestation of ants and small bugs. so we pried it off and SPAM insecticide like siao. and everything was covered in croach shit so like... i dun think the family even uses the cutlery/anything to cook/eat with. (hello?? the knife and fork were ON the floor already?)
haiz. when we went there, there were only 4 others there who just started cleaning. AFTER 3 hours of battling that shit, we finally could see the FLOOR of the living room! it was white tiles with patterns.... sigh. then we had reinforcements! ie. renci, takwei, wendi, etcetc. then they got the HARD task of venturing into the KITCHEN as we went and tried to gather enough apetitite for lunch! seriously didnt want to eat alr D:
OH. at the start, right, wen the floor was still all covered... it was still okay. THEN WE SPRAYED INSECTICIDE LIKE SIAO INTO THE COUCHES/TABLES RIGHT, AND 15-20 cockroaches rushed out at the same bloody time!! somemore at the start, only had 6 girls and 2 guys!! everyone was screaming and wacking like siao. (zzz haha some of them never see cockroaches often, so scream and spray like siao.... don't know that the insecticide wont kill the cockroaches instantly! hahaha so they spam like siao--- by spam, i mean they sprayed until the cockroach couldnt even get up because of the jet of the spray.... -.- HAHA) i WANTED A newspaper roll to wack lor please... but the house no weapons de! D: so without a weapon, i couldnt put my cockroach wacking skills learnt at home to good use! the feeling of having loads of cockroaches some where in the house with no weapon on you is DAMN VULNERABLE PLEASE. zomg!!
okay... the worse part i felt, was that the house owners werent even an old/invalid couple.... they were rather young (30+ at most?) and had 3 primary school age children!!! OMG. the poor children, how do they live?? so anyway, the lady when she came back (cause at first there was only the father and us) she was kinda unhappy because we threw ALOT of stuff away....(i think she's the hoarder) but anyway, later she could also see how much progress we were making... so she helped a bit! BUT OMG. there was one part where she passed me this wastepaper basket. i thought "oh okay, just pass to throw into the black garbage bag"... BUT i turned it around, AND THERE WAS A BIG FAT COCKROACH on the bin. near MY HAND. so i got a heart attack and dropped it.. zomg. i mean wacking them is one thing but being so near... AHHHHH.
anyway, we threw out 46 plus plus plus black garbage bags full to the brim of trash.... and the house still wasnt very clean!!! omg. though not bad progress alr! stayed there from 11am to 5 plus before couldnt take it anymore and left with renci, wen da etc , leaving it to the others who came at 3pm to continue!! omg. anw i apparently missed the part where they fumigated the toilet in the kitchen and hundreds (ZOMG) of cockroaches poured out and were crawling everywhere esp the ceilings!! SHIT. luckily sehhhhh.
HAHA OMG. the worse was that the few of us at the start stupidly took off our shoes nn socks to go into the house!!! BECAUSE we were still thinking along the lines like for other houses, that we cant step in and dirty their houses with shoes. BUT omg halfway cleaning, i realised why im so STUPID. the lady herself walked into her own house with SHOES ON. SHIT lah.... hahaha crapz so GROSS! later when the "reinforcements" came, (haha xD) they also smartly wore their shoes in.... zomg. dumb ttm!!!
hahaha. anw renci and i were joking that after all that right, we went in with cockroach phobia... but after 6 hours of that crap, we came out totally cured:
*while walking out of flat, down the stairs*
Renci: *sees a cockroach* Oh look, a cockroach! wanna kill it angie?
Me: *looks at it* Nahhhhh. *tired*
*both walks away calmly*
HAHAHA.
okay, at least we got an extremely valuable retelling experience after this! (besides making me scrub and wash like siao after i reached home xD) and luckily im writing the article about facelift (tgt with derek) so i can write about this EPIC unit man! hahaha everyone knows it as the cockroach house alr! (seriously--- after we left, EVEN the outside of the block of units right had ALOT of cockroaches that i suspect poured outside from that unit! there were like 20? all running around in the rain. and the guys (at least those that werent scared-er than girls) were kicking the cockroaches like a sport alr.) HAHA.
